About Our School System

My name is Owen Blickensderfer and I grew up in Mott. As a child, I thought that everywhere else in the world was like my hometown. After I left North Dakota to search for greener pastures, I had a rude awakening. The farther one gets from North Dakota, the more noticeable becomes the decaying quality of education in our nation. Mott-Regent has one of the finest public school systems in the country. Students who graduate from here are well prepared to face a rapidly-changing world. My children's education was a major factor that drew me back to Southwest North Dakota. One day, I dropped by the school and snapped some photos that showcase the quality of education offered in our area.

Once upon a time... Mrs. McNeill had her 4th grade students working on geometry in Math. Spanish I class comes to sing a song to the 1st graders. Mr. Moore's government class. Stage band during a practice. Practice session for the spring "Cafe Concert". During choir, Mr. Suelzle reviewed choreography for the Cafe Concert . The computer department prepares young people for the future. Remember science fairs? ...and all the projects. The Physics class is preparing for a Science Olympiad . The woodworking class is a beehive of activity. So is the metals lab. I found robots in the Agricultural science room! Hitting the books in the library. Older students help out in the classrooms.
