Mott is the Spot You'll Like Alot!
Hello.
My Name is Harry Vanlishout. My wife Theckla and I live in Mott. If you
are thinking about retiring and moving,I would like to
tell you about this wonderful place to live. Our small town is in Southwest
North Dakota where State highway eight and twenty-one meet. They call
this area of North Dakota "The Banana Belt" because our weather
is warmer and drier than the rest of the state. It is a town of about 800
people in farming and ranching country with good country values and an excellent
work ethic.
This is a wonderful place to retire, filled with as much peace and quiet as can be found anywhere. If you are fed up with bumper-to-bumper traffic, high crime rate, noise, air pollution, fires, terrorism and whatever else that comes with a large city, then the town of Mott is for you. Yes, we have plenty of peace and quiet, wonderful clean air and security. For $20,000 to $40,000 anyone can buy a home in Mott that would sell for $200,000 to $300,000 in a big city. City lots to build on are available at a very reasonable cost.

Medical
service is important to a retired person like me. We have a clinic in town
with a doctor nearly every work day and a fine ambulance service. It is
merely thirty minutes from the nearest hospital and only an hour and a half
to a major medical center. Medivac planes and helicopters cut that response
time to next-to-nothing.
A
friend of mine broke her hip a few years ago. Instead of recovering in a
hospital, she moved into our nursing
home for a couple of weeks. It was half the price of a hospital stay
and her friends could visit every day without leaving town. (Nursing homes
aren't just for old people to live in you know.)
We
also have a senior citizen center where they serve senior meals at noon
in a homelike family setting. It is a great time to gather with friends.
Folks can play cards there or at the K of C hall, and several card clubs meet in private homes if you enjoy visiting over a card game.
Are
you a sportsman? We are considered the "Pheasant Hunting
Capital of The Nation." We also have lots of deer, antelope, grouse
and turkeys. There is good fishing in the Cannon
Ball river that runs through town and many well-stocked dams and ponds are
close by. If you like big water, the Missouri River and lake Sakakawea is
about one hundred miles from Mott.
Mott has
an excellent nine hole golf course with a club house
and
an active club. There is much more. The churches, coffee shops and local
activities keep one occupied all year long. You can find something to do
most every day within a short driving distance of Mott.

School activities like sports and concerts add
an evening of enjoyment to our week for most of the school year.
How
about a walk in the winter when the trees are frosty? We have a lot of beautiful
days in any season and the enjoyment of a safe, quiet walk around town early
in the morning is a wonderful way to get your day started. Or how about
an old-fashioned drive in the country without heavy traffic?
The opportunities for finding ways to enjoy retirement in peace and security are limited only by your imagination. If you have an R.V. come for a few days and park in our R.V. park. Yes, Mott has something very special and valuable to offer. If you would like to visit with me about our community , please pick up your phone and call me at 701-824-2462. I am personally inviting you to visit our friendly city and see for yourself. I would love to show you around and we hope you will stay!
